Comparing Medicare plans

The plan comparison tool at sidebarbenefits.com/compare-plans shows the Medicare plans available where you live, using official plan data published by CMS (the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services).

Searching for plans

  1. Enter your 5-digit ZIP code and select Search. If your ZIP code spans more than one county, you will be asked which county you live in, because plan availability is set by county.
  2. Choose a plan type tab: Medicare Advantage, Medigap (Medicare Supplement), or standalone Part D prescription drug plans.
  3. Optionally add your medications and doctors. Plans are then sorted by how well they match your drug coverage and provider needs, alongside star ratings.

Reading a plan card

  1. Each card shows the plan's monthly premium, deductible, and maximum out-of-pocket limit.
  2. Star ratings show CMS's overall quality rating for the plan, plus health and drug service ratings where available.
  3. Benefit indicators show extras such as dental, vision, hearing, over-the-counter allowance, fitness, telehealth, meals, and transportation.

Comparing side by side

  1. Select up to three plans using the checkboxes; a compare bar appears at the bottom of the page.
  2. Open the comparison to see full cost detail: copays for primary care and specialist visits, emergency and urgent care, hospital stays, and drug cost tiers.
  3. At any point you can choose "Talk to a licensed agent" to bring your ZIP code and shortlist into a free consultation.

Plan details come from official CMS published data and are refreshed regularly. Always confirm final benefit details with the plan before enrolling.

We do not offer every plan available in your area. Currently, we represent multiple organizations which offer Medicare Advantage, Prescription Drug, and Medicare Supplement Insurance plans. Please contact Medicare.gov, 1-800-MEDICARE (TTY: 1-877-486-2048), or your local State Health Insurance Program (SHIP) to get information on all of your options.

Sidebar Benefit Advisors is not connected with or endorsed by the United States government or the federal Medicare program.

The Medicare plans represented are PDP, HMO, PPO, or PFFS plans with a Medicare contract. Enrollment in plans depends on contract renewal. Enrollment in a plan may be limited to certain times of the year. Eligibility may require a Special or Initial Enrollment Period.

This is a solicitation for insurance. By requesting information, scheduling a call, or initiating a chat, you agree to be contacted by a licensed insurance agent by phone, email, or text message to discuss Medicare insurance plans. Standard messaging rates may apply.
